Meet Dr. Joyce Lam
Dr. Joyce Lam is the general dentist and owner of Joyce Lam Dental in San Jose.
She believes patients make the best decisions about their care when they understand what’s happening and what their options are. That’s why clear, thoughtful explanation is at the center of how she practices.
Dr. Lam studied psychology at SUNY Stony Brook and attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry on an academic scholarship. She has also completed additional training in implant dentistry.
Dr. Lam speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Before your visit
We’ll text and email you a link so you can get a head start on your forms. You can also fill them out on our iPads when you arrive.
Please text or email us:
- Your dental insurance card, so we can check your benefits before your appointment
- A list of your current medications
- X-rays from the past year, if you have them. Let us know ahead of time and have your previous office send the digital files before your visit. Paper copies or printouts can’t be used.
Can’t send your insurance card or medication list ahead? Bring them with you and we’ll scan them.

After your visit
You’ll receive a dental health report with your exam findings and gum measurements.
If you’re using insurance, we send any recommended treatment to your insurance for preauthorization.
